Abstract: The first lecture will be on the classical view point on algebraic surfaces: invariants, computation of Chern numbers, the geography problem…
The second lecture will be on the orbifold surfaces, the orbifold Chern numbers and the new examples of surfaces with big cotangent bundle.
The third lecture will be on the Bounded Negativity Conjecture: it has been conjectured since a very long time (say the Italian school) that on smooth complex surfaces the set of self-intersection number of curves is bounded from below. We will explain the recent advances and progress on that question.
