In this mini course I will describe the basic properties of the pro-etale site, including local contractibility. I will use them to show that the pro-etale cohomology of sheaves Z_l, Q_l, \bar Q_l coincides with the usual l-adic cohomology. For the benefit of those who have not seen etale cohomology before I will discuss its basics as an introduction to the pro-etale story
